Oh those Wacky Islanders

The Islanders have scheduled a news conference for 3 PM today to announce the signing of Rick Dipietro to a new contract.

Rumor has it that it is a 15 year, $67.5 million deal.

Let me repeat, rumor has it, 15 years for $67.5 million, or $4.5 million per year.

Words escape me for now. Once this is confirmed, rest assured that I will have something to say.

Ed when I saw this story this morning I was ready to post this over hear. It doesn't seem bad to get him locked up at 4.5 a year, but 15 years what the hell are they thinking. The sites you mentioned on the geek are very good also check out Spectors Hockey sometime.

Wow a few years ago it appeared that the Isles were going in the right direction and My New York Rangers were going in the wrong direction. Things may be a changin. Will Garth Snow want to unretire and get himself a long-term deal to back up Ricky D.

As goaltender, or GM?

I mean, with the Fishermen, who can be sure?

I knew Mike would chime in with the lameass fisherman line. :)

Ahhhh, screw the fisherman line. The back-up goalie as GM is the horse I rode in on.

Ed in Westchester said...

Mike, yeah I got that, but by using the tired old line, you blew it. It was funny.

This is why I hate Wang. He is making this team into a mockery.

From that, you can guess the tilt my entry will take when I post it.

Danny - welcome back.

Wang is, I just can't find the right words to describe him.
